As you enter Highland Park off E. Warner Avenue, the drive turns to the right and you come to two tennis courts, each surrounded by tall chain link fencing. A concrete pillar to the south of them has a bronze plaque which reads: "Dedicated to the Youth of Guthrie / Made Possible Through Generosity of Merle G. Smith." (Merle G. Smith was a well-known civic leader of Guthrie and one-time City Attorney.)
These two tennis courts are in good condition, with nets intact. They are available during the daylight hours when the park is open. There are light poles along the sides of the courts, so the courts may be used after dark on some occasions.
