This historical marker is part of a series of historical markers located all around Klamath County and commissioned by the Klamath County Historical Society.

*Interesting Observation* In logging onto the Emigranttrailswest.org website which is an excellent Applegate Trail reference site I've used to waymark other T Markers in Klamath County in the past, I've noticed that this site does NOT mention this particular Bear Valley T Marker and location. After doing further research I discovered that the Applegate Trail passed through this area as an alternate route into Oregon in 1847.

Directions to historical marker: If you're traveling along Hamaker Mountain Rd which goes south from Hwy 66 (Green Springs Dr), you will see the T Marker on the left side of the road and you can drive right up to the historical marker on one of a few dirt roads that merge toward the marker.

The marker text reads:

BEAR VALLEY
APPLEGATE TRAIL 1847
