This stamp, meant to resemble a post card, shows a saguaro cactus, found in the southern part of the state, and this scene from Monument Valley Navajo Tribal Park along the border with Utah.

It seems as though every butte and mesa in Monument Valley has a name. Some are named after people but most are named for something they resemble. The "Totem Pole" is self-explanatory. "Yei Bi Chei" (which seems to be spelled differently wherever you look) is a Navajo Spirit associated with the nine-day ceremony called "Night Way" held during the winter. This ceremony is sometimes called "Yei Bi Chei" as well. The rock formation supposedly resembles the fire dancers who appear on the last day of the ceremony.
Also seen off in the distance is Meridian butte, so named because it lies on the 110th meridian.
The scene can be seen along the Monument Valley scenic drive.
