The Hussite Wars, also called the Bohemian Wars involved the military actions against and amongst the followers of Jan Hus in Bohemia in the period 1419 to circa 1435. The Hussite Wars were notable for the extensive use of early hand-held gunpowder weapons such as hand cannons.

The last real battle of these wars in Bohemia took place near a small village Krec near Pelhrimov. Took place between the armies of Ulrich von Rosenberg and Taborits (radical wing of Hussites), trying to support the Hussites besieged in Lomnica. Oldrich seems surprisingly attacked them, because Hussites did not manage to build a wagon fort, a mobile fortification made of wagons. Taborites had eight hundred dead and is probably just saved their cavalry.

A stone monument in the shape of the chalice was unveiled on the site of the battle 22nd September 1935.
