From the Wyoming Tourism web site:
Shoshoni was an oil and uranium boom town on the Old Yellowstone Hwy. After the bust, the town became famous for the Yellowstone Drug Store which served up thousands of ice cream shakes and malts every summer to tourists headed for Yellowstone and Grand Teton National Parks. The old time soda fountain is no longer in business. The town now serves as the headquarters community for Boysen State Park.
