John Adams, Second President of the United States - 1797-1801

As our second president, John Adams was known for his ability as a great orator. After Thomas Jefferson wrote the Declaration of Independence, it was John Adams who delivered it to Congress “with a power of thought and expression that moved us from our seats”.

During Adams term, the Navy Department and Marine Corps were Created (1798), the Capital moved to Washington, D.C. (1800) and the Library of Congress was established (1800).

John Adams is one the fathers of the American revolution and has become one of our histories most fascinating personalities.

Bronze statue of Adams showed delivering an oratory dressed in full dress of that time period.

Location: Corner of Main Street and 6th
Sculptor: John Lopez
