Red Rock Canyon National Conservation Area (operated by the Bureau of Land Management) is a day-use scenic geological area about 20 miles west of the Las Vegas Strip on Nevada Hihgway 159 (Charleston Blvd).

Red Rock Canyon National Conservation Area is an area of great beauty created by bright red rock strata exposed on the faces of mountains west of Las Vegas. The Interpretive Center is designed to provide visitors with amplifying information before or after taking the 13 mile scenic drive through the Conservation Area.

A wide variety of outdoor activities is available within the Conservation Area with permits required only for backcountry camping or bivouacking overnight on selected rock climbing walls. This is a day use only area but overnight camping is available at an adjacent campground plus the permitted exceptions previously described. A late use permit is available to allow exiting the Area up to two hours after closing time.

There is an entry fee to enter the National Conservation Area.

Heat, no water, poisonous snakes and scorpions, steep rock walls and falling hazards.
