This border crossing occurs about 16 miles northwest of Pahrump on Bell Vista Road/Bob Ruud Memorial Highway, a road that sees very little traffic.

Bell Vista Road/Bob Ruud Memorial Highway is the direct route between Pahrump and the northern reaches of Deat Valley, including Scotty's Castle.
There are very few indications here of the presence of the border. On the California side is a sign welcoming you to Inyo County. On the Nevada side is a spray-painted line and lettering spelling out Nevada on the pavement. As can be seen from the accompanying photograph, the line is off by a few feet as the border crosses the highway in line with the fence in the left center of the picture.
