An aluminum pipe marker surrounded by rocks painted orange. This survey mark can be found the trail to the summit of Yonah Mountain with a popular climbing rock face. It is well marked, as you can see from the photos.
Additional information regarding this Cadastral Survey marker is currently unavailable. This possibly marks what was once private property. There was once a tenuous relationship between climbers and private property owners in the area. A land swap was worked out by the Georgia Department of Natural Resources and some local conservation groups. As of 2009, there is now a publicly accessible trail with a parking area.
