This former one-room schoolhouse served the children of the small farming community between Hillsboro and Sherwood, referred to as "Midway", since it was nearly mid-distance between the two larger communities. Closed in 1946, the home was later remodeled and became a residence. The Midway School District merged with the other nearby school districts of Kinton, Groner and Jacktown, and still later, the Farmington View area included their chcildren and all eventually merged with the Hillsboro School District.
