This cemetery was constructed to house the remaions of those already buried or those who lived in towns covered by the waters of Mead and who have since passed on. There are approximately 175 graves in the cemetery which may be near the maximum required since there are few survivors remaining from the flooded towns.
This cemetery is on the National Register of Historic Places.
