Luling TX is the center of the watermelon-farming industry in Texas. Luling is a fun little town, full of quirky touches. One of the newest is this 3-dimensional welcome sign, just 1 block north of the junction of the US 183 and US 90 in downtown Luling.
This fun, colorful sign features an old pickup truck with a bed full of ripe watermelons coming into town. If it makes you want one of your own, stop by the farmer's market only a few dozen yards away and get yourself one! Better yet: Come to the world-famous Luling Watermelon Thump (held annually in June), and eat all the watermelon you can stand in ways you hadn't even thought of!
