Odeceixe is the Northernmost village in the province of Algarve and it has a nice windmill. It has been there for a long time, easily visible from the main road, but not many people actually go there. Well... in high season I was told there were years with 300 hundred daily visitors.
The best of the place is the master miller who stays there to welcome the visitors during the Summer. From June to September he will be there, and the windmill will be open to the public. Closes on Sundays, Mondays and holidays. Otherwise, opened from 10:00 to 16:30.
Of course the master miller will speak only Portuguese, but if you know the language you will have fun learning from him. He was not only a master miller, but he also built windmills in his times, including this one, which he renovated, under the command of the local parish.
The engine is there, but he trusted us with the info that some parts re not able to properly work anymore so it wouldn't be possible to fully operate the windmill as it is.
