“Close Quarters” is a bronze sculpture located at Central Way and Lake Street. The playful bunnies nest near Wilde Rover Irish Pub, Zoka Coffee, and are diagonally placed from other another much loved Kirkland sculpture. The bunnies were sculpted by Dan Ostermiller and if you were to poll the children of Kirkland, this sculpture would probably be their favorite. The sculpture was purchased for the city in 2005 by residents and businesspeople.
Close Quarters is indicative of a Dan Ostermiller sculpture. His dramatic bronze sculptures of animals convey a deep understanding of the psyche of his subjects.
