The Hungarian Freedom Fighters Memorial was unveiled on 23 October 1960 in Ottawa, Ontario. It is located in front of the Mauseleum, on the grounds of the Beechwood Cemetery. The inscription on the front of the monument reads as follows: "Hungarian Revolution Martyrs' and Canadian Friends".
The grey granite monument, approximately five feet high by two feet wide, stands next to a black granite obelisk inscribed with the words: "1956 - In memory of the fallen".

The text of the article reads as follows:
"Two little Hungarian girls, dressed in national costumes, hold hands during a memorial service for Hungarian freedom fighters, held on the leaf-bedecked grounds of Beechwood Cemetery Sunday. The service commemorated the un-successful 1956 uprising against Hungary's Soviet-controlled government."
