The co-ordinates are given for a point close south west of the bridge. There are footpaths passing beneath the bridge so it can be photographed, safely, from many angles.

The section of railway bridge that crosses the road is now a girder bridge supported by columns on the east side and columns and the old arches on the west side. The section, over the road, was probably arched at some point but has been changed to give a consistent clearance height for high vehicles such as double decked buses.

The rail tracks run fro Lewisham station, close west of the bridge, to the east with the next station being Blackheath.

The bridge identification is 'BEX 555.
Bridge Type: Girder
