Oscar O. Gould was born 1844 in Vermont. He was the second of three children born to Louis Bates Gould and Asenath Johnson Atcherson Gould. He was a veteran of the American Civil War, having served with Company 1 of the 5th Minnesota Volunteer Infantry Regiment. Judging by his headstone, he was also a member of the Masonic Order. He died February 8, 1878 in Polk County Wisconsin and was buried here at the Evergreen Cemetery in Mantorville, Minnesota.
