This beautiful sundial is located in the Garden of Old Roses section of the Berkeley Botanical Gardens. This is close to the highest spot in the garden. There's lot of fine detail and astrological signs on the bands of this sundial. The sundial web site describes this as:

A bronze armillary sphere dial on a quarried stone pedestal. The equatorial ring includes hour lines with 15-minute marks and Roman numerals.

A plaque mounted on the base reads:

Donated
In Honor Of

Frank G. Cheney

Class of 1941

Sundial Type: Armillary Sphere - series of rings in plane of equator
