"Designed to echo the time-honored feel and playability of traditional courses from past eras, The Vineyard offers lush, rolling fairways that meander peacefully along wildlife preserves and vineyards set against the stunning mountain backdrop. Water is in spectacular abundance, with five lakes lending an ever-present element of danger."
This course is just past the North County Fair (Westfield Shopping Town) Mall and immediately south of San Pasqual High School. It used to be a big empty field when the Queen of the Taskmasters was in high school, and we all feared it would become something horrid, like expensive yet high-density housing. A golf course, and a lovely one at that, was better than we could have hoped. Most of the course is surrounded by chainlink fence whose flowing vines have almost completely obscured it, but view are available by cruising out Old San Pasqual Valley Road or clmbing up thorugh Sonata on Beethoven and going left at the top. Of course, it's a public course, so why not just stop in?
The Vineyard is a member of the
Southern California Golf Learning Centers, offering lessons to people of all ages and ability levels. Information about the Nike Golf Learning Center is available at the website, although I think <a=href"http://www.golfsd.com/vineyard.html">this website gives much more useful information for serious golfers.
