This former railway tunnel on the North Coast line (Brisbane - Maryborough) was completed in 1891. The concrete lined tunnel runs in a North/South direction and is approx 100m long. There is a slight curve towards the Northern end.

In 1932, the North Coast line was deviated and today runs approx 380m E of the old tunnel.

For a brief period around 1942, the tunnel was used for farming mushrooms.

An expanded history can be found here: (visit link)

Today the tunnel lives quietly in the forest of Dularcha National Park and is part of a multi-use trail (walking, cycling, horse riding) connecting the towns of Mooloolah and Landsborough.

Closest access to the tunnel is from the end of Rose Rd (approx 350m). Alternatively, the trail can be taken from Mooloolah or Landsborough townships for a longer walk.
