The memorial has a statue of a Union soldier standing on a base.  The soldier is dressed in a long overcoat with a cape.  He is holding his rifle by its barrel with both hands with its butt resting on ground between his feet.  His cap is on the ground behind him.  On the side of the base are two plaques with information about the battles the company participated in and the roll of members of the company.   On the front of the base is a plaque inscribed:
