The Aurora City Hall is a 1,035 square foot wooden structure with a metal roof in downtown Aurora. The property also includes the Police Department and a water tower.
Known as the "Antiques Capital of Oregon," Aurora was founded as a religious commune by Dr. William Keil in 1856. Keil named the community after his daughter, Aurora. The city was incorporated in 1893 and as of 2010, the population is 918. The city, also known as "Aurora Colony," is located in northern Marion County. The Antiques Street Faire is held during Aurora Colony Days in August.
