In 2005, the Junior League donated the Discovery Village play area to the City of Montgomery. It is locateed in Kiwanis Park by Old Alabama Town.

Kiwanis Park is about 3 acres in size and is managed by the City of Montgomery Parks and Recreation. The park closes at sundown, so the hours listed below must be adjusted for the season. The playground area is called Discovery Village and has a lot of room for exploring and play time. While this is located in the Old Alabama Town area, there is no admission to visit the park and there is plenty of free parking. There are areas for children of various ages, and the city has provided benches under shade trees for the adults who want to rest while all the activity is going on.
The playground can be accessed through gates on North Hull Street, between Randolph Street and Columbus Street. Since the park does not have its own restrooms, it is probably not a great choice for travelers, although it can be accessed from I-65 and I-85. It is located in the downtown area, but it is a quiet location due to its proximity to Old Alabama Town.
