This cave is located a short walk of about 400 meters east of the station Gruebisbalm of the Vitzau-Rigi cog railway. There is no motorized traffic within several kilometers.

At the end of the path goes behind a waterfall where you can see the cave that is partially covered with a small lake at the entrance. The path is open to the public until behind the waterfall; the cave entrance is closed but you can have a look into it.

The cave is probably 100,000 years old. Caves in this geological formation - conglomerate rock - are quite rare.

It is private property and belongs to the nearby hotel Gruebisbalm. The cave is not open to the general public but can be rented for events for about 50 up to 350 persons during the summer season. There are also two or three more public events a year where you can participate, more information on their home page. So the admission price in the variable below is just an average and includes also a dinner in the cave, entertainment and transportation from and back to Vitznau.
