This vintage ore boat anchor is on display at the Taconite Harbor pullover/boat launch in northern Minnesota.
This well marked pullover has a boat launch, mining equipment display, this ore boat anchor and even the remains of a once thriving town now abandoned.
This anchor is mounted on a cement base and shares its home with a taconite boulder, mining truck tire and more.
There is a brass plaque that reads:
Ore Boat Anchor
This anchor, typical of those used by ore boats, is from the vessel "Bethlehem". The anchor weighs approximately 7000 pounds and is six feet wide.
