ARUP Blood Services is a non-profit collection center that is proud to be the sole blood provider to:
•Huntsman Cancer Institute
•Primary Children's Medical Center
•Shriners Hospital for Children
•South Jordan Health Center
•University of Utah Hospitals & Clinics
Of the 48 hospitals using blood in Utah, these five hospitals require approximately 25 percent of all the blood transfused in this state. Many of our donors appreciate that the blood they donate stays right here in Utah and can help others in their own community.
ARUP Blood Services is a component of ARUP Laboratories; an enterprise of the University of Utah and its Department of Pathology. ARUP Blood Services provides blood to the only children’s hospitals in Utah. Blood for most babies must be less than five days old, which creates a continual need for blood. Children and adults undergoing bone marrow transplants or suffering from cancer, burns, trauma, surgery or illness count on ARUP to have an ongoing supply of blood for their treatment.
Each unit of blood we collect is separated into different components to help multiple patients in need. ARUP Blood Services needs approximately 100 people to donate whole blood every day to keep up with the needs of the hospitals we serve. Meeting this demand is a challenge during weekends, holidays and the busy summer months.

Blood drive program:
ARUP does have a Blood Drive program and their own vehicles. Their web page states that they are lining up drives for any dates this year. They still have openings for November, December, and January. Line up a blood drive today with your school, church, business, or community group.
