1883 ließ der Baron von Milkau für den Sanitätsrat Dr. Haupt ein Sanatorium, die Villa Sanitas, für Nervenkranke bauen. Das Sanatorium wurde 1930 stillgelegt. Die Stadt Tharandt kaufte das Gebäude und richtete hier das Rathaus sowie eine Sparkasse ein. Heute ist hier die Stadtverwaltung untergebracht.
In 1883, Baron von Milkau built a sanatorium for nervous patients. The sanatorium was closed in 1930. The city of Tharandt bought the building, and set up the town hall and a savings bank. Today the city administration of Tharandt is housed in the building.
