The "Roundhouse" sits on a pole that can be raised and lowered by the home owners to clean out the birdhouses and fix or repair if damaged. The bird houses sit on a circular bar that protrudes from the main mast and can pivot around to some degree with the wind.
The birdhouses are designed to attract Purple Martins as a bird species however these birds tend to arrive in the spring and clear out by mid summer when the bird houses are then taken over by sparrows, and a few other species. While there I spotted a bright male gold finch and a Baltimore Oriole
