The building is a two story red brick structure dating from 1903-1904. Tablets on each side of the first story have the numbers "19" and "03" in them. The foundation is limestone and the over all appearance is that of a temple with limestone steps leading up to the main entrance.

While the original front doors have been replaced with modern aluminum double doors, the stained glass transom above the entrance has been retained. A second story frieze that bears the words "Public Library" has been covered by the Union Labor temple's sign.

Measuring approximately 53 feet by 91 feet, the Neo-Classical style building stands on a corner lot on the main street through town. The front facade with a center projecting pedimented pavilion and Corinthian pilasters help it really stand out from the surrounding commercial buildings.
