Chartered Dec 12, 1827 as Wake Forest #97, taking its name from Wake county and the Forestville community. The town of Wake Forest and the University (now in Winston-Salem) took it's name from the Lodge as the community grew. After moving south 2 different times, the Lodge changed names to Neuse Lodge #97. In 1930, the Lodge merged with Mt. Pleasant Lodge #157, which was facing problems with low membership. The Lodge changed it's name to Millbrook #97 in 1945, and moved to it's present location in 1983.
