In 1994 the City of Austin erected a memorial statue to honor legendary guitarist Stevie Ray Vaughan. A Dallas native, SRV frequently performed in Austin with a battered 1963 Fender Stratocaster, which he affectionately named "Number One" (also known as "First Wife").
