The Baskins Creek Trail is 2.7 miles long. It begins and ends on the Roaring Fork Motor Nature Trail, a one-way loop road southeast of Gatlinburg. The coords for this waymark were taken on the east end of the trail. At about the midpoint of the trail is a side trail, marked with a sign, that leads to Baskins Creek Falls (WM5018). Another side trail leads to Baskins Creek Cemetery (WMERJJ). Bales Cemetery (WMEQV4) is at the east end of the trail.
If you are going to the falls go in from the east end of the trail. The south end of the trail climbs a ridge, then descends into the creek valley. Coming back up this slope is a stiff climb. The last part of the trail to the falls is steep and rocky. The east half of the trail is much more level.
