"Driving into town on Highway 82 East, you will see the new reader board sign near the first stoplights. Find out What’s Shakin’ in Mauston. The sign is the result of the combined efforts of the Mauston Chamber, the Mauston Room Tax Committee, and the family of former mayor Dave Pelton. What’s Shakin’ was the name of a witty, weekly column written by Dave in the 1990s that detailed current events. The sign is a fitting tribute to Dave, a man who gave so much to his community."
It definitely intrigued me, we spent hours in town instead of driving straight through, there is quite a bit shakin' in Mauston.
