Statue of a young girl with an ice cream cone in one hand and two balloons in the other. She is obviously having fun and her pig tails are flying. There are several sculptures of children at the National Orphan Train Complex, all showing children having fun. The purpose of the Orphan Trains were to relocate orphaned, abandoned, and homeless children to new homes throughout the United States and give the chance at a better life. Millie is symbolic of that new life.
