On the side of an old hotel in downtown Port Townsend is a remnant from a previous age... where you could purchase a (quality?) cigar for 5 cents.

Port Townsend is called the "City of Dreams" because of the early speculation that the city would be the largest harbor on the west coast of the United States. However the depression meant that the town would never see a train station.

In recent years the city has been revitalized by tourism but remenants of the original enjoyments of the past can still be seen on the side of this hotel.
