EN: The Reformed Church of Benken was built in 1621 by the city of Basel, some parts of the previous chapel from the 13th century were integrated into the new biulding.

The rectory was built in 1673 and was one of the first stone houses of the village, which was otherwise dominated by timber. 1754/55 it was extended with a baroque south wing.

The two buildings are on the main road at the southern border of the village Benken, that has merged with Biel into a common municipality in 1971.

DE: Die reformierte Kirche von Benken wurde im Jahre 1621 von der Stadt Basel neu erbaut, einigeTeile der vorhergehenden Kapelle aus dem 13. Jahrhundert wurden in den Neubau integriert.

Dass Pfarrhaus wurde 1673 erbaut und war eines der ersten Steinbauten des Dorfes, das sonst von Fachwerk geprägt war. 1754/55 wurde es durch einen Barockflügel nach Süden erweitert.

Die beiden Gebäude stehen an der Hauptstrasse am Südrand des Dorfteils Benken, der seit 1971 zusammen mit Biel eine gemeinsame Gemeinde bildet.
