This Country Church is Cape Fear Baptist Church and it is located in the rural Gray's Creek Community southeast of Fayetteville. There is some debate about exactly how old the congregation is, but the current church sanctuary dates from 1859.

There is something of a debate over the actual age of this congregation. The sign outside of the church used to read "Founded Prior to 1770." It now reads "Constituted 1756." Some claim that the church was actually started in 1738.

Regardless, the current church building was constructed in 1859. It still has an old hand pulled bell for call to worship in front which you may also be unable to resist pulling. This building is on the National Register of Historic Places.
