Located just south of Interstate 90 in Pennington County, South Dakota, New Underwood is about 20 miles east of Rapid City, SD.
The area was settled by German, Norwegian, Irish, English, and Danish immigrants and the town has a population of 660 as of the 2010 census.
This watertower is 1930s vintage and is plainly visible from the interstate whether you are traveling east or west.
