The last Army railway equipment left the post in late summer 1993 and the track was subsequently pulled up. A GE 80-ton went to Letterkenny Army Depot, PA, where it remains today.(railroad.net)

"This concrete bridge carried a spur line across Beulah Road into Fort Belvoir. The spur, known as the U.S. Government Railroad, originated at an interchange with the RF&P at Newington. The line was principally used to transport coal into the post. The best date I have found for construction is 1932."
