Q 85 - Freedom, New York - U.S. Benchmarks on Waymarking.com

This U.S. Coast & Geodetic Survey benchmark (designated Q 85) is located in the northeast abutment of a bridge over a small creek. At this time, there is survey ribbon in a tree near the mark (which caught my attention, and further invsestigation revealed the mark). The mark is 6 feet below the height of the rail, and 9 feet southeast of the center of the rail line (tracks and ties removed).

The abutment has started to crumble around the mark, however the mark looks secure and should remain in place for the foreseable future. The mark is in very good condition, and the stamp designation and date are very readable.
