The transportation center is located in a restored train depot, built in 1892 by the Southern Pacific Railroad. The depot has been moved, restored, refurbished and preserved by the City of Whittier. The building is on the National Register of Historic Places. Greenleaf Avenue used as a staging area for passengers.
