The Crookston Carnegie Library, right next door, opened in 1908. In 1975, it became part of the Lake Agassiz Regional Library system. That system included 13 libraries and 10 LINK sites across 7 counties in northwest Minnesota. This new library was opened in 1984 and the old Carnegie Library was purchased by the Polk County Historical Society to house their archives.
