Father Bouchard saw the erection of the first church and rectory in the early 1880's at a cost of $1,200. Eighty acres of land was purchased by Father Gamache in 1885 and work began on the cemetery. (visit link)
The impressive brick Gothic architecture church with stained glass windows was built in 1914 at a cost of $35,000.

The sign on the arch has the name St. Peters Cemetery but the Minnesota Genealogical Society (visit link) lists the name as Holy Cross Cemetery with an alternate name of St. Peter's Church Cemetery
