Sukhothai and Phrae are two of the many northern provinces of Thailand. Lands of agriculture, small towns and villages, and light industry. Sukhothai has a measure of prominence as it contains two World Heritage sites, two "ancient" towns of the Sukhothai Kingdom, which draw a favourable number of tourists each year.

The historical sites in Sukhothai are the reason for the artwork at the crossing. There is a representation of the ancient Buddhist wats along the road. This crossing is inside the Suk border, most likely as there is here enough space for the artwork. The land around the crossing is open, unused land.

No restrictions on entry, no facilities.
