Sparks is a town located between Meeker and Chandler, which was established in 1902. It was once a thriving town with 50 businesses in operation. Now, the town has a population of 169, with only one or two businesses open in town. This is a vacant two-story brick building constructed in 1926, which once housed a masonic lodge upstairs, and a service station and garage on the ground level.
A stone name/date block on the west facade reads: SPARKS LODGE / A.F. & A.M. No. 316 / 1926. The second floor has four sets of two double-hung windows facing the street, with a row of single and double windows along the north and south sides.
The service station operated out of the ground floor. The southwest corner of the building has a large open area with the second floor above, which once contained a gas pump bay for the service station. Within this recessed area is an overhead door leading to the rear automotive shop, as well as a small office area to the north.
Address of the station: Main Street Sparks, OK US 74869
Type of Gas Station: Vintage
