The Hall of Honor is located in the lobby area of Auburn Arena on the campus of Auburn University. We entered through the Auburn Team Shop on the side of the building, which is where we took the coordinates. As one goes up the ramp, the loud speakers begin the Auburn Fight Song and cheering as one would expect to hear in Tiger Walk on football game days. At the top of the ramp one finds several display cases. In one of the cases is the 2006 trophy for the 2006 Women's Track Team.
The following is from a news release done in 2006: "Auburn won the team title by scoring 57 points at the NCAA Outdoor Track and Field Championships June 7-10 in Sacramento, Calif., to easily outdistance Southern California, which finished second with 38.5 points. Seven Auburn women combined for nine All-American performances, including a pair of individual national champions in Markita James in the 400m hurdles and Jovanee Jarrett in the long jump.
Kerron Stewart became the second woman in Auburn history to win All-American honors in three events at one NCAA outdoor meet, finishing second in the 100m and the 200m and anchoring the fifth-place 4x100m relay team. Josanne Lucas finished in the top five in two events, placing second in the 400m hurdles behind James and finishing fifth in the 100m hurdles. Angela Homan (fifth in the 10,000m), Michelle Vaughn (eighth in the triple jump) and Tamara Thomas, who teamed with James, Jarrett and Stewart in the 4x100m relay, also earned All-American honors." source: (
