The River Avon meanders its way over the Hampshire countryside. Around this area the river has split and forms smaller side rivers that merge with the main river a little way from this location. At the location of this gauge two of these rivers merge into one stream.
The bridge that crosses this river is in Western Street on the outskirts of Ringwood and is around 10 feet from the bridge. The co-ords shown here are for the bridge where the photo's were taken.
