This sculpture set back from the street with trees partially surrounding it. The Concordia Centennial Time Capsule is located directly in front of it. The bronze shows some discoloration, with the plaques being somewhat hard to read. There is a softness and simplicity to the sculpture, and the detail on the young man's thumb being hooked into his belt speaks volumes about any young man who's ever went off to fight his nation's battles.
