Statue is located on the high point of ground in Mount Hope Cemetery and faces towards the west. Nearby is the carillon tower and the GAR monument. The inscription on the base reads:

Located approximately 100 feet inside the entrance to Mount Hope Cemetery near the base of the carillon.
DIFFERENCES NOTED BETWEEN THE INVENTORY LISTING AND YOUR OBSERVATIONS AND RESEARCH:
Discoloration of the marble noted. Small crack at front base of statue. Otherwise in good condition.
