The posted coordinates bring you to Clifton E. French Regional Park. The coords should lead you to a bridge which offers a fantastic view of the lake. Usually there is parking down by the lake, but during busy summer days the legal parking it up by the visitor center (which by car, one would have to pass on there way in) and then get a shuttle ride down (the shuttle is constantly running.) If you do not want to take the shuttle there is a little extra parking most of the way to the beach on the right side of the road and you can walk the couple hundred feet or so.
According to Plymouth, Minnesota's website, The name Medicine Lake came from the word "Mdewakan" in the Native American language, which means "Lake of the Spirit." The Dakota named the lake after a warrior overturned his canoe and disappeared. According to the DNR's site it is the Second largest lake in the metro area. It is a popular spot for boaters, swimmers, and fishermen. The lake currently has many species of fish including Bluegill, Bowfin (Dogfish), bullhead, common carp, crappie, goldeye, sunfish, largemouth bass, northern pike, walleye, white sucker, yellow perch Please enjoy your time at Medicine Lake!
*Note* The picture I have posted is not from the bridge. It is from the south side of the lake.
